The city is based on the foot of the Volcano, El Finito. The city looks breathtakingly beautiful as it sits around mountains and four other kinds of volcanoes in Peru. You can wander around the streets of the city by walking as it has so many little things to offer to you, which are amazing and can be ignored when not walking through it. The city is very vibrantly painted and while walking through the streets, every cobbled up streets I went through had some amazing graffiti on them. It is very beautiful. The nights are even better, most of the city is covered by fairly lights lit lanes and it is incredibly gorgeous.
View at Yanahuara
This is the best viewpoint around the whole Arequipa city. From the mainland center of the city, the sighting point is just around a half an hour away, not more than that and once you reach there you will fall in love with the kind of a beauty you will be able to see. You can sign up for guided free tours that happen in four slots, two in the morning and two in the evening. They are held particularly before sunrise and sunset. I went to the point around 5 in the morning, and the city was covered up by clouds and the sun slowly starting rising from them, it was amazing. Never seen such beautiful nature, in it’s this raw state before. You must visit.
Alpacas are the famously known animals around Peru, and being such a cute and majestic creature, they are not found everywhere. Arequipa is one of those places which have over 250 Alpacas with them right now and they preserve them in their natural habitat, around a hundred acres of land. You can go to the park and stand beside the boundaries if you don’t want to go inside. Even at the boundaries, they will come and you can feed them or cuddle them. These animals are very friendly.
